"I'm sorry, I don't speak English." Absurd, surreal, chaotic -- everything you'd expect from Boots Riley, and everything you'd expect Virgos (me) to immediately understand yet wouldn't tolerate even for a second.

what an acid trip of a show

watched the first 4 eps with a q&a after. Super super weird and funny and can’t wait to see where it leads. I love practical effects!!

It’s pretty great but a bit too ambitious at times. Definitely worth a watch since some scenes in this are in my favorites of the year. PLEASE check it out y’all. We must discuss

still in disbelief there’s no CGI!

"TV Friends" a really great coming of age TV show. its really great, the music, its goofiness and the actors were great. I enjoyed this and I'm sure I'll enjoy it on the rewatch. 9/10

Not really sure how to rate this but I liked it. Lol.

Boots Riley has a brain like no other

Afro-surrealism is one of the greatest things to happen in art, especially in cinema. I'm black and I like talking about the "economic state of the world" and so on but I really hate when they involve politics or black power movement in movies or shows. Not because I think art and politics can't mix

Mix of surrealism + an honest discussion of real issues was dope. I’m a Virgo is singular & distinctive. The first episode was the best. Organic, fun, creative & unique. The messages are important and beautifully raised. Trippy tunes & trippy vibes, Atlanta(strand)type show. Shows like this & “Swa

If you are a virgo and you are watching this show, say hi😌

I went into this with high expectations so I’m a bit disappointed. It’s almost too weird sometimes.

wild ass story but fights/comments on issues based in real life w/ some great world building. The only issue are the weird tonal shifts for some of the episodes (esp episodes 3&4). kinda need more absurdist shows to watch

Solid follow-up to Sorry to Bother You. I am a fan of Boots Riley, he's definitely got some wild ambition and is a natural storyteller, and I think having the space of a 7 episode limited series as opposed to only a 2 hour movie gives him more room to cook. That being said, there still feels like a

An ambitious and surreal show that is full of imagination, it is extremely compelling and bizarre and sucks you right in. Performances by the cast are really good especially Jharrel Jerome who is just GREAT and impressive visuals.

Well this was really good wow. I need season 2 asap because the ending to this season was so ?? frustrating way to end it especially if they dont renew it. Jharrel Jerome was soooo well-cast and I just loved him with Olivia Washington. Definitely need to give ‘Sorry To Both You’ another go now tho :

Boots Riley’s second project definitely didn’t disappoint. This was incredible and the cast is amazing. Jharrel Jerome and Walton Goggins kill it. It also actually looks unique instead of looking like every other movie/show. Can’t wait for what Boots Riley has next, whenever that is.

a must watch if you enjoyed sorry to bother you! I’ve been excited for this project for months and it didn’t let me down for a second. the world-building in riley’s projects is so captivating to me and it’s very easy for me to get lost in. surprised this project was funded and hosted via amazon gi

I love the message behind this. I just did not really like how it was told. Loved Jones' Lectures on Capitalism though. Favorite part of the show.

very strange and weird but honestly just what I was expecting from boots riley!! also loved the title cards for each episode🫶

Boyoyoyoying, boyoyoyoying, boyoyoyoying... *sheds tear* Coming off his directorial debut in Sorry to Bother You (2018), which achieved a cult following for its surrealist premise and imagery, Boots Riley released his series follow-up in I'm a Virgo. There are qualities from a filmmaking and produ

What the fuck was that. Anti-capitalism wrapped in an lsd-drenched burger paper. Disgusting, horny, absurd and theoretically revolutionary. I really don’t know how to describe this, but i hope Boots Riley mangages to do another hundred of these fucked up joints.

My biggest complaint is that I wished this was longer. It gives some characters more fleshed out roles and storylines and more time to stay in this world. Of course Boots Riley always comes through with the politically charged messages and some were even so small you’d blink and miss it. Of course J
