My biggest complaint is that I wished this was longer. It gives some characters more fleshed out roles and storylines and more time to stay in this world. Of course Boots Riley always comes through with the politically charged messages and some were even so small you’d blink and miss it. Of course Jharel Jerome is great but Kara Young really is the standout for me in this show. Everytime she is given a monologue she devours it. I think when it comes to icing Boots is kind of all over the place and he has so many ideas that he kind of gets in the way of pacing but this show is so visually appealing and his storytelling is truly one of a kind so it makes up for it.
