Vander's backstory is really bittersweet. Two brothers who were ready to die for each other caught themselves in the middle of a war they didn't start and before they knew it, they were beating each other to death. Vander and Silco's tragedy gets even more heartbreaking when you realise that the sins of the father were showered upon Vi and Powder robbing themselves off from a better future. This episode broke me man.

Visually captivating and with some great performances (and others not at the same level).
Plot not that interesting in a long pilot. Let's see how it develops.

I actually don't believe that they killed three characters in one episode. No way Viktor and Vander are dead; not a chance. Viktor's death is more believable, but I feel like Warwick is still crucial to the story so I doubt he is gone. I reckon Isha really weakened the beast. Saying that though I feel like that nullifies her sacrifice, which is absolutely excellent by the way. I knew she wasn't going to last, but it's still sad regardless. What they did with her and Jinx was really well done and she will have a big impact on Jinx for sure. We could Jinx at her lowest point ever when we return next week.

I will be a little negative in this portion, but I want to address some things. Caitlyn and Vi is rushed here; people have been complaining about this season being rushed, but this is the only instance where I can't deny that it is the case. Episodes 2x1, 2x2 and 2x3 get much better if you treat them as episodes 10, 11 and 12 moreso than an introduction. 

One last thing is that these last three episodes are going to need to be insane if they want to try and satisfy everyone. We have Jayce stuff that needs to be covered, the Mel and Black Rose stuff, Jinx being evil once again, Warwick stuff wrapped up, and most importantly, Heimerdinger and Ekko who have been gone for a whole act. There is 0% chance this show ends and we don't get that one Ekko payoff us fans have been craving for since episode 7. I have heard episode 9 is a longer episode so hopefully everything can be wrapped up beautifully.🏅

Overall: High 8/10 (this won't change)

Kind of want a spin-off about those machine wars

Didn't expect a Harkonnen to be the first one to develop the Voice, really love how they made the water vibrate when she uses it

Interested in Desmond Hart's motives and how  he was able to kill Kasha and Pruwet from across the galaxy 

Solid pilot seeing the beginnings of Bene Gesserit and Valya making sure their presence continues to grow in the Imperium, also really like the visuals and cinematography and that it is almost consistent to what we see in the movies

honestly I didn’t think this show would impress me but this fucking did. Such an amazing character focused episode. It’s so fucking rare that I genuinely want to fight for a character in a TV show, or in any form of media, but Sofia Falcone’s story won me over. I’m so engrossed on her story and how she goes against the world.

Genuinely such an insane move for the third episode of the show but this was perfect, such a heartbreaking but probably necessary tragedy. 

Spoilers: 
Killing off three of the main characters who’s lives were already somewhat established into the story is such a powerful move to show how bad Vi and Powders falling out was. Both of their situations are understandable but I do think powder tends to want to prove herself a bit too much, i know it’s mainly to get validation from Vi and redeem herself to Mylo, but there’s also a certain extent to just how much she can contribute to the group and I don’t think Vi ever properly taught her about that. Vi’s reaction is totally justifiable, it was in the heat of the moment and she was angry, upset, and heartbroken. I’m honestly surprised she didn’t get more upset at powder than she did after all the chaos she had caused even before that. 
 
Although, Seeing Silco prying and plotting to take advantage of powders vulnerability in the scene towards the end after Vi left her is devastating. I think they’ll have such a manipulative and one sided relationship, but im also so excited to see Powder turn into Jinx and prove everyone who thought she wasn’t as powerful and called her a Jinx wrong (or right). 

Haunting and emotional episode, hearing Vic’s cries as Vander slowly died and told her to take care of powder is heartbreaking, I find it so surprising that I didn’t cry to this.

THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. I have come out of every episode so far this season incredibly enthralled and excited about where this is going and this is the best episode yet. So insane. This was the best and worst episode to be gay at the same time 💔💔💔

Caitlyn and Vi oh my god. Nobody speak to me for the next few days. I have been WAITING for that kiss and it was everything I could have wanted but in the context of the episode as a whole it's so heart-breaking. That line from Vi, "Everyone in my life has changed, promise me you won't change." is maybe my favourite of the show thus far. The way they fall apart here is so perfect, the kid causing Vi to stop Caitlyn feels very symbolic, I haven't fully grasped everything that scene was going for but it appears as though having an innocent act from a child tear the two of them apart is representative of the way that humanity has been lost in the ongoing conflicts. The cycle of violence continues as one act of wrath (Jinx bombing the council) helps remove any moral reservations on Caitlyn's part as she seeks to tear apart everything Jinx stands for. The final scene with Caitlyn has a very deliberately propaganda-esque feel to help cement the way that Caitlyn's suffering has caused this very unlikeable character development. It's a pretty clear parallel to Jinx in my opinion which is confirmed by a few lines across this episode ("It's her blood in your veins", "Then why are you the one acting like her?"), one unjust and tragic act turns them both into bad people. 

Also, oh my fucking GOD the action here was unreal. My breath was taken away. Arcane has frequently had really impressive scene transitions but that middle section took that to a whole new level, the incredibly quick back and forth between both plots as they reach their most visceral point was unbelievable. I haven't talked about it yet because it's not the main highlight of the episode for me, but I adored the Jayce plot too. The show continues to show the corrupt ways in which Jayce's pure vision has become harmful and torn people apart, this time in regards to Ekko's tree, while also giving the viewer more information about magic. Every time that I learn something new about the magic in this show I feel more and more lost, but it is incredibly alluring and interesting to watch, all I need is for it to have a great payoff. 

I do have minor reservations with this episode (although I wouldn't have given it a 5 either way since I'm more strict with giving those now), the Medarda stuff is continually the least fleshed out out of anything going on which is becoming more of an issue as it starts to have more and more plot involvement. With 6 episodes left, I'm a little unsure how they could fix that, but we'll see. It makes me wish that the time in season 1 Mel and her mother spent together before their plot significance was too huge was used in a more significant way, maybe if the shows writing and dialogue were better I would be a lot more invested in regards to both of them. There are definitely a few other things that could have been explored better that I'm a little lost about as well. What caused that huge colour explosion during the middle of the episode? What did the Jayce scenes during the middle of the episode lead to? That plot isn't really given any sort of resolution in this episode. 

Also goddamn I have complained about it 3 episodes in a row, can we PLEASE stop having these cheap cliffhanger endings that never get followed up upon. All 3 seem to have been more or less pertaining to the same thing in a different way, and whatever it's about I would like to see it actually have some presence in the plot instead of some short dialogue-free scenes at the end of each episode. Whatever, fantastic episode nonetheless, so excited for these next 3 because I've heard nothing but good things.

The animation, music and emotion were all top notch

I think I see where the plot is going from here, Silco takes Powder under his wing after being “abandoned” by Vi, then Powder slowly turns into ‘Jinx’ and she got the nickname from when Vi was shouting at her - “You’re a jinx!”

Nice setup and the only thing I know about this show is that Jinx is the main character with the blue hair, so it was kind of obvious that it was Powder from the get go

Consider me hooked, wasn’t too sure about the first two but this episode was absolutely phenomenal, T60 ish oat

s6 has been colin’s season, he’s been going very strong. if they try to force nandor and the guide on me i’m going to become physically aggressive, nandermo or nothing. laszlo and sean 😭😭😭

I'm irrationally happy to see Travis Fimmel again on my screen. There's something deranged and mystical about that man. Perfect casting. I assume he's the prophecised Tiran-Arafel? - A reckoning. A holy judgment brought by a tyrant.
Great cast altogether. 
Love to learn more about the Sisterhood and their ways and the Dune universe in general. 
I'm excited to see more. 

I got a little lost at times with the large number of characters and houses shown here and the story didn't really grab me so far, nor did any character really stand out to me either. 
I don't think it was a bad pilot, just kinda average, but I can still see potential here to explore more from Dune's lore and the Bene gesserit in an interesting way. There were certain moments that left me intrigued too, it wasn't all so uninteresting.
The production, visuals and cinematography were great, which was to be expected from HBO.

How the fuck are they gonna end this shit with only 3 episodes, if i was the writer i would kms on the spot.

I thought HBO was gonna serve me a shit show for my birthday but this was just fine. 
Big fan of Dune parts 1 and 2 but i wasn't really excited for this and it's honestly not an amazing start, the look is cool i guess, good production but the story and characters aren't all that, rather read the books if am honest. It's basically a worse version of House of the Dragon, take that how you will

lowkey my favourite season ever. has some of the best comedy eps in the show and contains two PHENOMENAL arcs that completely blow all the other serious arcs out of the water. ep35 - 51 is without a doubt one of if not the best stretch in tv/anime. absolutely generational.

Ever since I watched Dune, I was immediately fascinated by Jessica - from her small interactions with other members of the Bene Gesserit, the clothes she wore, and how she navigated her abilities. Because of this, I was so excited to know there was a show specifically focussing on the  origins of the Bene Gesserit in the making, and now I am so excited to see how this show will continue their origins.

Beyond my fascination with the Bene Gesserit, I thinking it is very interesting to see how the Harkonnens began in the Imperium after seeing their assertion in Villeneuve's Dune films.

Will never stop yapping about how perfect this base game is,  best story ever and most tragic events ever in fiction, 2 of the highest peaks that I've seen and 3 of the greatest characters ever, this is really insane.
And I didn't even get to the supposed greatest part yet😭
