The famous Dot one-hander. A first for the show that saw long since departed Writer, Tony Jordan (Co-Creator of Life on Mars) return to pen the script, and he gives us the Eastenders take on Alan Bennett powered by a masterclass of a performance by the show’s most reliable performer, June Brown. Ooohh this is great, an incredibly well conceived, filmed and structured satire on the struggle between art vs commerce with a brilliant central performance from Seth Rogan who inexplicably manages to stay likeable while portraying an abject coward because Rogan sells every moment of heartbreaking p

This was great, felt like a stand alone issue in a regular comic book run.

Still one of those lost deeply disturbing episodes of television I’ve ever seen… this goes there and then some. Over 20 years later it’s lost none of its power.

Bradley getting choked up at the end 🥲

Paul Whitehouse is indeed a comedy legend but this documentary is so bizarrely structured and oddly stylised that it distracts from the main event. Not the best to celebrate someone.

A straight up Masterpiece and once again shows that Danny McBride, Jody Hill and David Gordon Green are one of the best creative teams working in television.

Dutch and Claudette’s rape case in this one has not aged particularly well.

A brilliant script by Sarah Phelps follows up on the ratings smash “Hello Princess” cliffhanger from the previous episode with what is basically a two-hander, something that Eastenders was well known for by this point but to use it as a device to bring back the Square’s most iconic character ever, D

The moment where Frazer promises to keep Wilson’s secret at the end of this episode is beautifully performed and surprisingly moving, especially considering La Mesurier’s personal history.

Whoah there sexy Daddy, you become wayyyy less hot when you’re spouting your latent transphobia my man and then to add insult to injury Saldana turns up to tell us it’s actually great to live in a country where you can be Openly transphobic, say whaattt??!! All the stars for how insanely ripped Gen

Peggy Mitchell will never not remind of my Nan.

Always thought that Cindy hired a hitman to kill Ian Beale just because he was annoying rather than she was having an affair.

Sharongate - Written by Life On Mars Co-Creator, Tony Jordan, this is iconic 90s British telly.
