I have some mixed feelings on this season. Think Donald and writers didn’t fully know where they wanted to take this show because at the least the first half of the season was so different from the 2nd and I think the 2nd half works pretty well. It’s surreal, it’s funny and it’s telling a story and the rap game and struggle in Atlanta. The cinematography in this show is pretty solid too.
Paperboi is great and his plot episode by episode is always gripping for me. Earn I’m a bit mixed on. His characterisation i didn’t love early on but then he grows into a much different and more likeable character. Darius is a funny man. There’s one female character and there isn’t much to say about her either. This is a pretty cohesive season but not perfect by any means.
It talks about a bunch of social issues but I don’t feel like it fleshes any of them out.
Excited for next season. Apparently it’s goated.
