Maybe a perfect season. This is easily my favourite season. Of course the 3rd does so much and is a great conclusion however this does something else. Very good at being the middle chapter of the story. I love that this story adds so many new characters. First one being Toph who not only is a great character story wise with a complete arc but is also very funny and fits right into the show. She also adds so much to our main team. She’s unlike any other member of team Avatar but it works so well. Especially against Katara and Sokka. Her and Sokka are hilarious together. Other new characters are Mei and Ty Lee. Each very different one is happy and excited all the time and other is neither of those. But of course all these characters are great but don’t reach Azula. One of the best Tv Show Villians OAT. She makes Zhao from Book 1 look like a bad character and she’s much more interesting the Lord Ozai. She is so messed up and lethal. Won’t think twice about killing. She’s maybe the best bender on the show with raw power, agility, lighting(rare) and finally a dangerous mind. She has fun with her victims and most importantly wins. A great way to make your villain intimidating is to have them win. Her goals and thirst for perfection make her endlessly watchable. There’s so much world building in this season now because they don’t have to set up everything about people and the rules of the world so we see so many locations and people like the swamp, an ancient library, a perfect city free of war, a western town, the desert, caves and seas. It’s incredible really. This season we see more of the power of earth bending and how strong it is too. Aang learns a lot this season about people he loves, earth bending and himself. This show always has had a main theme of responsibility and Aang trying to live up to something bigger then himself. He wants to have fun. This season I felt he is pretty serious. The whole season has a more serious tone then the first. The action in this season is perfect. Really smooth and a job to watch. All the secrecy at the end of the season with Ba Sing Se was incredible and I very much appreciate. There’s so many emotions in this season. Zuko is a huge part. Maybe he’s the strongest part of the show. His story has changed so much and he’s learnt so much. And it’s never enough for him or his honour. He truly doesn’t know who he is or what he wants or needs to do.

I absolutely loved this show. I had no idea I wanted or needed this. I heard about this from the Always Sunny Podcast and gave it a watch. I had already seen Glenn’s “A.P. Bio and I can say I enjoyed this show much more. The characters are all great and so different and memorable. The backstory episodes were the highlights for me. One episode a season of backstory filler except is peak storytelling. I can’t wait for next season. This show has strong themes of reaching goals and aspirations of greatness that inspire me. “I can see it now” oooft. Visualisation. Seasons Ranked 2 1 3 Characters Ranked 1. Ian 2. Jo 3. Brad 4. A very consistent season that doesn’t let up for even a moment. Great humour but even better drama. Some of my favourite episodes OAT are here. Bojack is written perfectly and so is the rest tbh. I love this show. Wrapped that up fast lol.

Wow. I finished that show much faster then I thought I would. The only thing dragging this show down from a 5 star is the consistency. This show will go from maybe one of the best episodes to one of the worst like it’s nothing. This is unacceptable for a 5 star show imo. This goes for seasons too. While I think seasons 2 and 3 are both near perfect, season 1 is mid. Season 1 is a really average season. Half the episodes are boring and stupid, that don’t push the bar and the other half are good or great. That’s not really good enough for a show that ends up hitting the heights it does. Kevin and Nora are both perfect protagonists. PERFECT. Another character I loved was Matt. Every Matt episode was fantastic and so engaging. It has some top 30 episodes. Top 10 characters. Solid cinematography all around. Another big fault I have is the Guilty Remnant. They worked in IA and the sequel to it because that was of the extra ordinary. To that point I just couldn’t take them serious in the real setting. Also Jill could’ve been used better and the son too who was basically in 3 episodes after S1. With all those flaws you’d think I’d hate the show and I should rate this lower. However it finds it’s way into my heart and I’m sure a lot of people too because it asks the big questions that keep most of us up at night. Thanks the Leftovers. You surprised me.
