Aria (2005)
I suppose I feel about the same for Aria the Natural as I did the first season, it’s a pleasant series to watch though not exactly one that’s engaging. There still isn’t really a central plot and it follows the same structure of individual episodes focused on Aria Company completing their tasks while continuing to flesh out the setting. There’s a bit more to it as it explores its supernatural aspects some episodes, but it’s mostly unchanged from S1. Which is fine, but not sure it had to be double the length. And the cast still doesn’t really stand out much to me, but they’re likable enough and get some more time to develop. I’m not a fan of President Aria though, just find that type of mascot character annoying. Really what I like most about this series so far is its atmosphere and the OST. The art direction holds up well and it still looks pretty great even if the animation itself is a bit dated. The coziness of Neo-Venezia is felt in every episode and the music is just lovely to listen to, giving it a very calming vibe that’s unlike other slice of life shows I’ve seen.
