this show changed the way i watch television. the skill with which sally wainwright writes these characters the way she has such respect for them is something you rarely see. each of them getting a happy ending doesn’t feel like a cop out when it’s been written so beautifully and allows everyone to end the show on their own terms the way it was intended. the obvious comparison that will be made is with the line of duty finale where it was so clear that jed mercurio sacrificed any meaningful ending for shock value and im glad to say that never once happens here. long live the sally wainwright cinematic universe
