a dark, comedic & condensed first szn of this british crime cop drama the setting & vibe is very dour & gloomy, & the rural small-town vibes are reminiscent of a british ‘mare of easttown’, with the main characters being awfully similar… with a 6 episode format, the plot is fairly simple & nothing

7 years after szn 2, ‘happy valley’ comes back for a final szn. it’s easily the second best szn - the plot again wasn’t bad but lacks creativity & its definitely messy sometimes the subplot going on behind the main one was definitely a distraction & didn’t have good pay-off, if anything it could’

definitely not as good as the first szn, as there is really no active intense plot or antagonist in this like the first one had. the kidnapping plot in the first szn is just infinitely more interesting than whatever happened this szn it’s much more personal, & mostly just watching our characters l

a traditional & classic british small town crime drama with the 6 episode format & ensemble cast - very similar vibe to the HBO miniseries ‘mare of easttown’ sarah lancashire gives arguably the best female lead performance of any television show & sets herself as one my favorite female protagonists

Just a brilliantly underappreciated British show. The writing from Sally Wainwright is genuinely phenomenal, the characters and acting equally so too and I hope they all get the awards they deserve. But unlike a lot of TV shows that fumble in giving its audience a truly satisfying conclusion, Happy

One of the best seasons of Television I have ever seen and I feel like I keep saying that this year but wtf I’m blessed! Can’t wait to see what happens in season 2.

Not as good as the first season but that woman to woman talk between Catherine and Moaning Myrtle (trans rights) is indicative of this season being nicer than other Wainwright works. Gentleman Jack had a banality of evil going with it and the first season was mean but again I like how ‘nice’ this is

So happy COVID happened so I have a mask if I ever run into the dead bodies that Tommy Lee Royce leaves behind like goddamn.

100/100 "Happy Valley" stands tall as a masterclass in British television, blending gritty realism with deeply compelling characters and a plot that grips you from the outset. Set in the picturesque but troubled Calder Valley, the series unfolds with a narrative intricacy that keeps you on the edg

Faisal was so close lol Also I get it, the UK is not North America, but Catherine, a cop, has smoke alarms but not an alarm alarm?! In other words, four stars.

I've just really loved this show and after a long 7 year hiatus, the 3rd and final season did not disappoint. Superb acting, phenomenal writing and the final confrontation in the house was genuinely exquisite. My only gripe is I wanted just a little bit more of a round up for the majority of the cha

Found this a little messier than the first but it all came together in the excellent finale that provided satisfying conclusions to the arcs this series built. Really loved John this season, essentially operated the Kevin role (not quite as well performed though). Character writing stayed mostly at

Tommy Lee Royce what an antagonist

Overall a satisfying ending (the confrontation was excellent baftas for all) but they should’ve given Ryan one last scene I want to know how he took the news 💔

this valley is not happy at all! false advertising!

Such a well written series; dialogue that feels well drawn from the region in which its set and a bullet-proof chain of events where everything is a direct consequence of everything that came before. Yes, the title is ironic but this is by no means a miserable watch.

Sarah Lancashire grandMOTHERED again! I may not have been completely sold with how they cracked it, but damn, the ACTING more than compensates for the little contrivances -- Catherine and Clare's mid-series fight, Alison's heart-breaking confession to Catherine, Catherine and Frances' face-off, and

WOAHHHH its just so insanely well written catherine + tommy are two of the most interesting characters ive ever seen

this show changed the way i watch television. the skill with which sally wainwright writes these characters the way she has such respect for them is something you rarely see. each of them getting a happy ending doesn’t feel like a cop out when it’s been written so beautifully and allows everyone to

Season 1 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Season 2 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Season 3 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Sarah Lancaster as Cath Cawood is one of the best tv characters ever. She’s fantastic and makes this show so good.

Series 2 defo drops off and gets a bit dull but that 10 year wait was worth it.

I’m probably the 1% that didn’t want Tommy to die, would’ve been a 5*
