'you ever feel like nothing good was ever gonna happen to you? i don't wanna just survive. says in these movie writing books that every character has an arc. everybody starts out somewhere and they do something or something gets done to them, changes their life, that's called their arc. where's my arc? i got no identity' this is, imo, the best written episode so far. the dialogue is consistently excellent. christopher is def gna become one of my favourite characters he's lowk relatable. every scene with him in it is so good. i rlly hope he gets his arc🙏🙏🙏 my favourite scenes were chris and paulie's conversation, tony and chris's talk in the car (i loved the way they spoke on stigmas abt discussing mental health) and also all the scenes with jennifer. it would be rlly easy for her to be a 'non-character' who's only purpose is to help tony explore his psyche, but it's so great that theyre actually giving her a personality and purpose in the story. the moral dilemma of whether it's right for her to treat a 'bad person' like tony was rlly interesting to watch too. 'the man's a criminal jennifer. and after a while, finally you're gonna get beyond psychotherapy with its cheesy moral relativism. finally you're gonna get to good and evil. and he's evil.' idk, i find it rlly interesting that theyre including this part of the story from her and her family's perspective, and it's cool how it ties into both the melfi's and soprano's dinner table scenes where they spoke about italian heritage/stereotypes in kinda opposing ways with interesting parallels. peak writing tbh strong 8/10
