One of Netflix’s best original series. Most people write off this show as teen fluff garbage and I’m not saying it never dabbles in that, but Never Have I Ever has so much heart. Even as someone who enjoys romance and boy drama like no other, family and friendship was always the highlight for me. Devi’s relationship with her mother is one of the most deep, beautiful, and rewarding to watch. The way both of them heal and grieve alone and together got me emotional on several occasions. All the scenes with Dr Ryan were awesome too and I wouldn’t have complained if they gave us a few more of them. At the beginning of the show its hard to understand why Eleanor and Fab are friends with Devi, but by the 4th season it’s amazing and understandable how much they care for each other. Devi and Paxton’s friendship is so awesome and lovely to see as well. Also I’ve been a BenxDevi truther from the start!!! I love the way they challenged each other while still always showing up for one another. Above all else, the development of the characters was so well done and satisfying to see. Devi’s evolution as a character was so amazing to watch. Because in the end, it’s still her. Crazy Devi still lies, has things spiral out of hand, and screams in the school hallways. But now she supports her friends, isn’t self destructive in the name of sex and romance, is proud of her culture, and lets her mom hold her while she cries. God what an amazing show. I never would’ve imagined I would get this attached to all these characters. Hell by the end I even love Trent.
