Shoutout to @jubbls and @jaewoo for inspiring me to check out this fascinating series (and sorry for taking forever to finish it). Sonny Boy is definitely not for everyone, but I sure loved it! This is like Lost meets Lain with a sprinkle of Space Dandy’s creativity, and it’s great! But honestly, to compare it to other works would be a disservice to the show because it’s really its own thing entirely. Full of so many brilliant one-off stories that quickly won me over, as well as overarching ones that all contributed to one powerhouse of a finale. It took me a few episodes for me to complete get on board, but now that I have a better understanding of it all, I feel as though I’ll appreciate it even more on a second viewing. And now that it’s all over, life goes on… just as it did before.
