This was even better on a rewatch. Still easily the best season of the year for me so far. Impressive considering how great this year already was. Took me completely by surprise when I first watched it tbh. Didn't know it was coming, and it turned out to be better than all of the 2024 seasons that I highly anticipated. 18 Emmy wins and all of them very well deserved. I'm especially happy for Anna Sawai and my GOAT Hiroyuki Sanada. The first Shogun adaptation from 1980 was good too, but this is on a whole other level of quality imo. Also with Hiroyuki Sanada playing Toranaga after Mifune doing it first, I truly believe that Sanada is the Mifune of our time <3 2024 seasons ranked: https://srlzd.com/l/24237
