Steins;Gate is great. It has its boring moments, but everything has a purpose. The first 12 episodes may be slow and uneventful, but they establish the characters flawlessly, and they make us care for them so much, right before dropping a bomb on your head, and providing a devastating second act. And speaking of characters, they’re all utterly fantastic. I loved every single one of them (except Moeka and that annoying cat girl), and grew to care for all of them like they were family. Mariyu, Okabe and Kurisu in particular are some of the best characters in fiction. The voice actors do a spectacular job. And I usually hate voice acting in anime! Plus this show is not only written spectacularly and with an intelligent and prose that is practically unknown nowadays, but it’s also the only anime to make me laugh a single time.
