Nervous for this show rn, people are gonna bash it and the worst part is that I can see why. Anyone who is saying that this season needed to be slow and character focused is only half-right. Yes, you can have a slow character-focused seasons, but that does not mean you can complete halt every for it storyline. True great television (which I’d say is The Bear) can still accomplish progression during dormant times. This season just didn’t hold its weight and completely collapsed. Focusing on uninteresting characters with overused motives. Only brief flashes of greatness. Worst comedy of the show yet. The Faks have grown super old; and don’t get me started on the abysmal cameos. I thought this show held itself higher than to just throw famous people in their show for viewers. John Cena being one of the most unforgettable choices you can make. I thought the same with during last seasons “Fishes”. Good thing for that episode though was that it was so good that it was beneficial. This time it was just childish. Carmen is halted this season for the most understandable reasons. But so is Richie and Sydney and Marcus etc. So basically the best character in the show. Sugar got better this season so I’m okay with her presence. She even gaves us the best episode of the season. Going back to Carm, his whole limbo state is caused by Claire obviously, yet I’ve come to realize that I don’t give a flying fuck about Claire and Carm. She’s terribly under-baked and they have no chemistry. Shows with 29 minute episodes usually are intended to be faster than this given the runtime. Idk, I can get behind taking a walk after a jog but there wasn’t enough meat to make me continue pressing play.
