Well it wouldn't take much to look better after that disaster of a season opener, but I'll still hand it to This for doing something mildly right. There are some actual moments of tension throughout and a mildly good sci-fi concept. It even builds on a moment from Lone Gunmen of sorts where this virtual world was featured. It is fun seeing the return of one Lone Gunmen, and done in a way to not make some hackneyed fake death or anything like that would have lessen the deaths from before. With the weird thug, this episode does imbue some of that Lone Gunmen vibe. I can't say it was a super great episode of the show, but the Russian private contractor paranoia and ghost in the shell stuff is the best version of clunky modern political commentary we've had.
