“Our lives are only beginning. What lies ahead will take just a little longer.”
Abstract, perplexing, and indirect. These characteristics are what make the conversation around this so divisive. To me, this disorientation is Sonny Boy’s strength. At its core, Sonny Boy is meant to be confusing as it depicts growing up, parting with familiarity and control, and facing the world head on as an abstract stream-of-consciousness. Life is sporadic and uncontrollable and therefore cannot be mapped out fully. Sonny Boys believes that there is value in a life not yet lived and most importantly, one that’s constantly being examined.
