Another winner, maybe my favorite season so far. Steve Buscemi was an excellent addition in a man understated role that helped flesh out characters like Tony and Christopher. Tony and Carmela away from one another led to very interesting turns, and the usual mob shenanigans tied so well into the mai

It’s getting more and more difficult to rate and review The Sopranos as separate seasons, when it continues to feel like the tired description of a very, very long movie. Season 4 had great surprises and developments, but the real joy of the show is getting to watch the rich characters grow, change,

I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about this season in the first half but it brought it all home in the second half. It didn’t focus as much on the crime drama as the second season did, or at least, coupled it with personal drama more evenly that I was left more satisfied. I loved the developments in the c

I’ve had people for years telling me how great this show is and I’m pleased to discover that they were right. It’s a tremendous drama with complex characters that it’s easy to feel passionately about, but I was very surprised at just how funny it is. There’s at least one big laugh every episode and

“Thanks to you, I am a figure of ridicule in the market community.” Very funny episode, especially because of Warren T. Eagle. Bonus points for bringing back the computer.

S03 E17 · Basic Lupine Urology
Terrific parody from tip to tail. Michael Ironside is a terrific guest star and Michael K. Williams is such a great value add to the season.

S03 E14 · Pillows and Blankets (2)
One of the best episodes to show a friend to convince them to watch Community. I know this for a fact because it worked on several of my friends.

S03 E05 · Horror Fiction in Seven Spooky Steps
“Are you as fertile as I am?” “More.” Incredibly fun episode. Britta’s “Don’t worry, they address it” line is a favorite of mine that I wish more people knew about so I could use it more.

S03 E02 · Geography of Global Conflict
Easily one of my favorite episodes, a big reason for which is basically every line Martin Starr gets (“We did it” is one of my favorite jokes in the series).

Takes what the first season did so well (laugh lines, character dynamics, wacky fun storylines) and expands it to great effect. A lot of the actors, including the side players, really get a chance to flex their muscles and step up their games; Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Donald Glover, and

S02 E24 · For a Few Paintballs More (2)
A very fun follow-up to part one that only loses points by letting up on the original’s momentum here and there. Otherwise, terrific way to end the season.

S02 E19 · Critical Film Studies
This is such a good one, even better if you’ve seen “My Dinner with Andre.” The final conversation between Jeff and Abed and the ending narration gets me misty-eyed.

S02 E16 · Intermediate Documentary Filmmaking
“My father held grudges. I’ll always hate him for that.” Tremendous episode, Community casually does an episode of The Office and it’s one of their most iconic.

S02 E07 · Aerodynamics of Gender
“Why name your daughter Meghan, stocking up for a bitch shortage?!” Another underrated episode. The butt joke escalation is great (“I’m gonna slit your butts’ throats”) and it’s cool seeing Hilary Duff in the guest role. The montage of Joshua being a racist is an all-timer.

S02 E04 · Basic Rocket Science
Fantastic episode, so funny. Anything involving S.A.N.D.E.R.S had me in stitches.

It really is one of the best television shows I’ve ever seen. It’s rare to have a piece of modern ongoing fiction show the depth of character and the kind of natural growth as this does; at practically all times, you can track what each character will do and how every step they take in their world i

It’s a shade too long and there are some characters I felt could have used a bit more focus before the end but it’s one more wonderful trip around the sun and an appropriately bittersweet ending to it all. The final scene between Peggy and Stan is one of my favorites in the whole show.

This is so close to 5 stars but I was left disappointed that Betty’s screentime was reduced to her largely being irrational and wrong, felt like we really had nothing for her to do. That aside, still a fabulous season with surprises, hilarious sequences, and incredibly well-written character growth.

You wanna talk about god tier runs? Lane Pryce is a great addition to the show, a lot of the supporting cast get room to shine, and Jon Hamm gets better with every season. This is the good shit, y’all.

“One day you're there, and then all of a sudden, there's less of you. And you wonder where that... part went; if it's living somewhere outside of you. And you keep thinking maybe you'll get it back. And then you realize, it's just gone.” Just a smidge under the first season, a bit too much time faf

One of the greatest Adult Swim shows/animated comedies/superhero things ever made. Unbelievably intricate, clever, and hilarious writing, fantastic character designs, and truly exemplary voice acting, especially from a short roster of talent. A true passion project that was marred by executive inter

One of my favorite sitcoms ever. It’s incredible to watch the series from front-to-back and see the development of layered and consistent characters, as well as actors, writers, and directors all come into their own and create compelling and hilarious stories about them. Seasons 4-12 are so consiste

Every time a new season of this is announced, my wife and I basically hulk out with excitement. It’s the cutest show in the world, we love laughing at kids and looking at Japan. Easiest watch ever.

Still on the hot streak, the show logs one of the best pound-for-pound seasons in its history. Although other seasons have peaked higher, the writing, acting, and directing are so consistently strong that the whole collection is a breeze to watch. “Charlie Work” is an especially effective experiment
