Andor (2022)

S02 E09 · Welcome to the Rebellion
EMMY WINNING WRITING LETS GOOOO

Starts off incredibly weak but quickly becomes the best season so far

The show finally starts hitting its stride here

Still all over the place quality wise but the good stuff is getting a lot better

Some really cool stuff but has the lowest lows of any season of Love, Death & Robots

The finale is one of the funniest pieces of media I’ve watched

It’s a decent start to the series

I did have my issues with this season and Ncuti’s era in general but god I enjoyed this season much more than I have the show in a while. Was the finale underwhelming absolutely but I think Russell still knows how to handle those emotional beats. Belinda deserved better though. Biggest disappointmen

Throwing in Jar Jar was genuinely the worst thing they could have done. Should have been entirely focused on Anakin, Obi-Wan and Dooku’s interactions. Could have been one of the show’s best

I hate to be one of those people who doesn’t like an adaptation because it differs from the source material but they change so much stuff for seemingly no reason other than to change it that I felt very frustrated and annoyed watching this

I definitely wish the characters had more to do but this was still awesome and a great setup for next week

Was really good up until the last scene. I’m sorry but that scene does not work here and takes away from the emotional crux at the end of story. It was extremely well acted though. That’s why I’m so conflicted

Doctor Who (2024)

S02 E06 · The Interstellar Song Contest
The politics are a bit jumbled but I understood what they were going for. There should have been more of a lasting impact on the Doctor’s actions as it takes away a lot from the message they are trying to convey.

I see what they were trying to do but it just wasn’t executed well at all

We will never got something as good as this from Star Wars again

Doctor Who (2024)

S02 E05 · The Story & the Engine
Jesus Christ we are on a legendary run of episodes right now. A little slow to start but once the story gets into the meat of it, it becomes phenomenal with some of the best performances and villain in recent memory

Pretty good. The Cad Bane stuff was cool

S02 E08 · Who Are You?
Genuinely one of the most powerful pieces of storytelling

Doctor Who is on fire this season. 3 incredible episodes back to back

There’s some good stuff in here but I wish they had done more with The Punisher. I’d also rather just watch the original show but this still wasn’t bad

Genuinely some of the best Doctor Who in a long long time

They definitely used up most of the budget for this episode

As close as you can get to a perfect adaptation
