7 years after szn 2, ‘happy valley’ comes back for a final szn.

it’s easily the second best szn - the plot again wasn’t bad but lacks creativity & its definitely messy sometimes 

the subplot going on behind the main one was definitely a distraction & didn’t have good pay-off, if anything it could’ve been cut out of the szn entirely.
some characters are again just there, & pretty useless - again charlie murphy’s character is so underutilized, given she’s the most popular actress in this show.

everything else is okay but the one thing is the lack of music, a subtle soundtrack every once in a while would do just fine

the finale & the last 20m of the show were definitely the best part of the szn, & i’m good with how they ended it.

definitely not as good as the first szn, as there is really no active intense plot or antagonist in this like the first one had. the kidnapping plot in the first szn is just infinitely more interesting than whatever happened this szn 

it’s much more personal, & mostly just watching our characters live their daily lives 

charlie murphy didn’t have as much screentime as i wanted, & she had virtually no purpose this szn but i know she was filming ‘love/hate’

it’s also a lot slower, & the pacing went from okay in the first szn to being pretty bad. it’s just very dull at times, but has an okay pay-off in the finale 

sarah lancashire again carries this with her phenomenal acting, it’s like every other scene they just give her everything to work with, & she delivers every single time.
