Works better as an entertaining romp than an effective story, but that's not to say it's void of good storytelling

So Jodie Whittaker was good as always - the one consistent redeeming factor of the Chibnall Era. Other than that, the only enjoyable moments in this episode were the references made to the Davies Era and anything with Captain Jack but even he felt… off. This might be the first time I've seen a Doctor Who villain go "Nah, run it back" and do the exact same plan as last time. I would have liked the fun prison escape they set up but oh well

Yeah this is a fun and interesting one. Loved the plot of the new recon daleks wanting to take over a sector of earth and leaving the doctor no choice but to use the war daleks from the RTD Era to defeat them. I know I'm probably such a chump for falling for fan service this deliberate, but gosh, it is good to see Jack again. Missed the energy he brought to a Tardis Team so much. A really great return to form for the Dalek story and a very emotional deconstruction of the finite feeling of Companion life.

I like that they brought back the spider guy from the only good Series 11 episode, and that Captain Jack is back and finally interacting with 13. I don't think using a Dalek as an inspiration for a security drone is as bad as this episode makes it out to be (although I guess the guy cloning a Dalek
