Better than any of Ubisofts recent games. I thoroughly enjoyed this, not only is it filled with things from franchises like Assasins Creed, Far Cry, Splinter Cell and Beyond Good and Evil but it puts heart into its characters that .ake it an interesting watch. The characters are solid with Jade, Peyj and Alex being interesting in their own right, alpngside the Warden and Marcus Holloway, who are also solid. But the 3 highlights are Dolph Lazerhawk who has an arch thats all centered around revenge with some unique little twists that make it really interesting. Another standout is Rayman who not only does some wild shit (making use of this shows mature rating) but also has a surprisingly good arch surrounding what who and what he represents. And finally theres Bullfrog, a frog who is also a member of the Assassins Creed, and despite his low screentime hes my favourite character, I want season 2 just so I get more Bullfrog, not only is he just a great dude but hes also a badass. The storyline is also interesting, involving the corrupt government called Eden, the rebellion by Marcus Holloway of Dead Sec and Dolph's boyfriend Alex, with Dolph and co being stuck in the middle. And while the storyline does sound predictable, it plays out in ways I did not expect, including some pretty shocking moments. All Ill say is dont get too attached. And the animation is really good using traditional hand drawn animation alongside some 2d pixel art video game stuff thats pretty cool. But I do have some gripes, firstly this first season is only 6 episodes long and only really comes into its own till the end, most of the characters are done well but some arent, like Pagan Min felt nothing like his game character and felt wasted overall. Infact a few characters needed more screentime which is probably due to being 6 episodes long. Oh and that Cliffhanger, ngl kinda wish we saw a little more than we got, sure one of the things they set up is cool as hell but it definately feels abit unsatisfying. But hey guess thats something for season 2. Overall this first season was solid, good characters and some cool twists and turns kept me engaged. And ofcourse it has Bullfrog, which is absolutely a positive.
