really derivative, but still fun and enjoyable in its own umbrella academy way. definitely see all the little nods to the shining, grand budapest, and the backrooms as the season’s inspiration 
they also made me change my mind about a few characters, which is interesting. never cared about diego, but he’s cool now that he’s a dad, even if they did recycle the famous « i’m the daddy here » line; terribly, by the way, it was much more effective when it was aidan gallagher screaming at a large man, and definitely very cringe when diego said it unironically.. allison, i went from not caring to hating her, and viktor— viktor is amazing, actually. quite literally one of my favorites ! though you’ll notice i don’t talk ab the sparrow academy hère as i could not care less about them or the feud.
