Minor spoilers for this ep I loved this episode. Another amazing ep for a bunch of characters, but especially said and adebisi. Kareems speech was actually perfect imo, the actor does such an incredible job portraying said's emotions, perfect casting. Also adebisi finding jara was also extremely well made imo, I would say adebisi and said top 2 characters of the show right now (can't decide who i prefer), Ryan might be higher later on tho. Edit: Another incredible character in this episode was Beecher (obviously). His characters depiction of love (with keller) is so beautifully written and this may sound a little corny but this example of "the things we do for love" is so interesting to me. His "rage" scene with vern and keller was so good, and I honestly can't believe this show "only" received two emmy nominations. I really really like where Beecher's storyline is going, I'm so glad he isn't taking any more shit from schillinger☠. Btw that reminds me of a small detail that sort of annoys me a little bit: the way everyone (except vern himself) says it like "schillinjer" lmao i know that's nothing but I just find it a little irritating. While this was a fantastic season finale, I prefer A Game of Checkers. This episode wasn't anywhere close to bad, not even mediocre, but I prefer the storyline of an episode being centered on one thing/conflict, specifically in a season finale (like the riot in 1x08). The plotlines in this episode were many and at times it became hard to keep up with. But again, still an amazing episode with lots of brilliant scenes. S1>= s2, both very consistent but I prefer both the first and last episode of season 1 over those in season 2. All in all a really good finale, i'm starting season 3 tonight hopefully. From what i've heard the quality of the show supposedly gets a little worse in s3 and then gets way way better in s4, and then down again in s5 and 6 (?). But despite that i'm very eager to keep watching, I love the atmosphere of this show so much, even if the story isn't as good in every season. Also edit: Another thing i just remembered was the final shot of this episode, (Hill climbing into the casket) that sort of confused me. While writing this i've seen the first minute of 3x01, and the first shot is Hill in em city(??). Maybe we'll get an explaination later, or it was a type of metaphor? I don't know, btw Augustus' monologues are so good, I enjoy every single scene with him. Underappreciated character. Best cast in tv ever??
