The best of the recent ITV true crime dramas, a tragic story told as sensitively as possible, focused on the victims, and the failures of the police/wider establishment of the time. Incredibly thoughtful, and utterly damning. I don't wish to be pious about it, but it really does put other recent programmes to shame, notably a glossy one, on a certain streaming platform, which took a very different approach indeed.
