Both shame and hatred for myself was felt for falling for this series and for gripping toward this absolute bastardization of the audience’s lizard brain chaos. The worst part of this show is how painfully awkward it is from moment to moment, there are opportunities to mine for comedy and be self aware but it absolutely comes off flat by being way too serious with the occasional joke. This still has the cheapest reality show aspects that keep you hooked from an emotional perspective but with that all of the human interest elements feeling cheap. Mikey Day does what he can as a host but the delivery and reception of his presence just ends up making everything stale. They tried to spin in these twists and rule changes, but none of which are interesting enough to make this series worth watching. Some of the rules didn't make a lot of sense and almost felt like they were a type of legal cheating which seemed inconsistent. The show does improve in filming the cakes where it was a bit more difficult to find which one was actually cake as the shots did not go as close. The judges were far more famous and provided a peak of energy within each episode. This series is currently available to stream on Netflix.
