I’m just gonna dump my initial thoughts here and come back for a series review later: Taba is the MVP of this episode, it’s a shame he’s missing from a good part of the show because he provides a great alternate perspective The scene with Dan, Ron and Brenda? Absolutely heart wrenching I’ve come to appreciate Sam Worthington and Wyatt Russel way more than I did. What show stealers I’m glad a lot of this episode was focused on the other Lafferty women. For a series about women’s status within LDS they were somewhat distant. This episode bring me all that to a close nicely. Conflicted on the ending. Is Pyre’s growth over the show completely undone by the ending as we don’t get any hints of regret? It seemed for sure the show was building to a huge fallout with him and his faith ridden family but there was nothing? Pyre’s grandma I thought also kind of got shoved off, she doesn’t really get a proper conclusion, more of a “and they all lived happily ever after” kinda thing. I’d be interested to hear other perspectives but it’s not a show ruining ending.
