I cant believe people think this is the best season of the wire, besides the last two episodes this has been mediocre(for the Wires standards). Barely an 8/10, still  very good overall, but easily the weakest season of the Wire, season 3 was much better and honestly the build up of previous seasons saved this season from 3.5/5 stars. It just wasn't very engaging, nothing really happened , everything was just decent. Show suffered from removal of Avon and Stringer Bell, cuz those 2 very arguably the best characters in the show.Marlo is pretty boring villain, Chris and that annoying brainless girl of his are just cold uninteresting killers. Political part was interesting for most part, oh and ye Omar is very overrated like ye hes cool and likeable but thats about it and McNulty not having almost any screen time was also dissapointing. Sometimes felt too much like orphanage show or smth too. Atleast they fixed the intro song it finally sounds great.
