I feel like my reviews as I was going through the episodes were getting more unhinged and spontaneous, which reflects my state of mind watching this season.

Wow, what do I even say. This whole season is basically a ticking time bomb, the apocalypse is coming, and nothing can stop it. That doesn’t at all remove the tension since you don’t know exactly how things turn out. The plot gets increasingly more complex, but it fits so well together and I love every bit of it. The introduction of Adam is one of my favorite things because Jonas is fighting against himself, and what he will inevitably become.

What remains is the question “can things be changed?”, will we have a “world without Winden” and will they be free from this loop? The ending showing the existence of another universe seems to imply that this is possible, but what do I know? Maybe everything is destined to repeat because they will always be “slaves to their desires”. However, I will always look for a more positive undertone in stories, so I could just be interpreting it all wrong lol. But I don’t think being driven by desire means a lack of free will. After all, these emotions are fundamentally what makes us human and we always have that choice. Only if we made all our decisions based on logic would everything would happen the exact same way every time so it gives me some hope they can break free. Sorry for anyone who reads my rambling, but yea great season!
