Overall Rating (Episode Average)- 3.5/5 Started On: 8/3/23 Finished On: 8/3/23 when i was in 4th grade, i went on this church camp. while i don’t remember lots of the interactions i had, one i remember is this song a couple girls would sing: “i love you, you love me! let’s get together a k!ll Barney! with a one sh0t, two sh0t, three sh0t, four! no more purple dinosaur!” i’d heard this song sung on the playground at school before, and we all thought it was funny for reasons i don’t know. maybe we thought it was cool to be edgy, to not like this baby show and therefore not make you a baby. and wasn’t even until watching this documentary and thinking about that song that i really thought about how brutal that was, and that scares me; just how normalized violence is to a 9 year old. while i think this was an interesting documentary, it’s very all over the place. it tries to cover so many different aspects to this story in a very messy and inconsistent way. a lot could’ve been cut out and this could’ve easily been a single documentary. seeing Steve Burns in this was very enjoyable, i think he remains a very interesting person in pop culture. overall, an interesting watch if you have 2 hours to spare.
