On the list of best pilots I've seen, I think Breaking Bad takes the cake. The brilliance of this pilot is that it can exist without the rest of a show. Sure, there's things you want more of, stories to be told, but if this show never made it past the pilot, I feel like it's a cohesive and enjoyable enough piece of television that you could watch it over and over as a sort of short film. It's just a magical start to what's often heralded as the greatest show ever.
