A series filled with hilarious comedy, lots of realism and blunt emotions, and quite a surprising amount of heartwarming weight that pulls it all together—especially knowing this is halfway to being a biopic series. Tennant is absolutely fantastic but Hynes steals the show here with a layered performance that balances hilarity and a heart-wrenchingly realistic post-natal depression depiction in the unique alternating timeline segments of every episode. A wonderful first season that pulled on my heart strings and made me grin consistently in almost equal measure. I highly recommend it for the performances and realism alone, but you’ll end up staying and falling in love with the sense of humour and emotions almost immediately.
