the most confusing about this show is that rhett looks like he should be named perry and perry looks like he should be named rhett. despite the mediocre rating, i actually think there’s a lot of potential for the next season, but some things definitely have to improve: 1. who is this about? royal? autumn? rhett? this show didn’t have a clear protagonist imo and while that sometimes works, it didn’t here and that’s because… 2. flesh out the characters more. the majority of the ensemble was incredibly bland. i want to see season 2 explore each character as unique individuals. 3. consistent tone. one minute someone is singing, the next there is very weird making out and then after all that i’m supposed to be on the edge of my seat???? this show works best as a sci-fi mystery so i think they should stick with that. 4. explore the other time periods. having a time traveling show that takes place in one time period is boring. however, i put this near the bottom because with how the season ended i feel my concern will be alleviated here. 5. ban question marks from the writers room. this season gave us a lot of possibilities and it’s time to explore those in the second season. mystery for the sake of mystery is pointless. 6. better acting? idk how you fix this with the current cast, but there was some shotty acting in this show. the second season will be critical because it will show me whether the writers actually know where they want to take this.
