A country squire comes to Poirot and Inspector Japp with a threatening note: his young son will be kidnapped if he doesn’t come up with an enormous sum of money. The camaraderie and bickering between Poirot and Hastings is everything. I particularly loved the car rides and the trip into town to get a decent breakfast.
