Mononoke (2007)
Wow... I guess I just finished one of the best animes ever. Every anime should have this quality of animation, and this visual liberty. Mononokes are like a personnification of our most secret desires. Unaccomplished, they disturb the reality. Each arc of this anime explores a part of human soul and delivers an analysis of some social comportments and codes, in a very fine way, thanks to a beautiful and surrealistic directing and editing, and thanks to colors and visual symbols. The status of the principal character is very trouble, he is like the personnification of the spirituality, the moderation and the modesty that this society had lost, but also the symbol of a man who believes in reason and sense even when everything is upside down (the Umibouzu arc is very meaningful in this way), but also a man with his own desires, sort of the ultimate Mononoke. It's just a very fast analysis of this anime, which is very complex. My favorites parts are Nopperabou and Bakeneko arcs.
