i can tell they wanted to try something new this season and i didnt hate it. i think many people have said our current world is a black mirror episode, and i dont think dystopia is fun to watch when its too close to reality. so i understand it though im not sure how it will play out i really didnt mind the supernatural episodes. I loved Demon 79 and mazey day was okay, but I'm curious to see how these episodes are regarded in the future if this is the direction black mirror wants to go. as a 2001 enjoyer i loved beyond the sea. i love slow space movies and i loved the complexity of the replicas the first two were more black mirror esque, maybe only the first one really fits what everyone was expecting. I liked them until the endings as i found that this season had a lot of pacing issues and the climaxes were too close to the end so there wasnt a satisfying resolution. what I found really quite interesting was the references/similarities to other works in the last 3 eps. 2001 for Beyond the Sea, Twilight for Mazey Day, and Good Omens for Demon 79. I think these made it feel more like aspiring films rather than black mirror episodes. while i enjoyed them im not sure how to feel about them as installments of black mirror
