This is a review for the whole show.

One of my favourite shows of all time. Komi is a very likeable and relatable (to me at least) protagonist.

It’s kinda funny to me that my top 5 on this app are dark,gritty,bizarre and straight up confusing shows, and then there’s Komi, the “stupid rom-com anime about a girl with social anxiety”, I actually have Komi over “The Boys” and “Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” (edit: it is also over breaking bad now, the tiktok filmbros are gonna be pissed) which are both considered to be better than this.

There’s just something about this show that really just separates it from the other shows i watch, it probably is the fact i relate to Komi more than other show protagonists, as i have/had problems with social anxiety, especially when i was younger.

The romance in this dosent feel forced, like other shows/movies. Tadano and Komi both gradually grow closer together over the course of the 2 seasons (at the time i am writing this there are only 2 seasons) and eventually they both realise they have feelings for each other, but they do not know how to “communicate” these feelings to each other.

Each character feels different in at least one way, like with Najimi being constantly social and outgoing, Agari being shy, Nakanaka being nerdy and just strange, and Yamai being….. Yamai, if you read my episode logs you might be able to figure it out (she is a massive pervert). There are only 2 characters i do not like, them being katai and the narcissist guy, i do not like katai since he just feels like a copy of Komi except he is male, and you can guess why I don’t like the narcissist guy.

I am seriously considering moving this up to number 3/4 and moving BrBa down a few spots.

Netflix are missing an opportunity right now, with the 2nd season only coming out 4 months after the 1st, we could’ve had 4 or 5 seasons by now if they kept up that pace. It’s been almost a year since S2 aired, considering now popular the show is, its surprising that a 3rd season hasn’t been announced. But they did have big mouth for 6 or 7 seasons so who knows.

Did i buy a month of Netflix (mainly) to rewatch this? Yes. Did I watch it in dub? Also Yes.

If you haven’t seen this and are looking for a short and sweet rom-com show, you should definitely watch this.

I’ll read the manga, I want to know what happens next (edit: its good, i’ve got volumes 1-15 except 14. But I don’t have the volumes that cover what happens after the show ends)
