Mare of Easttown is a great example of how a show doesn't need a groundbreaking plot to be good, as long as the execution hits different. Tbh this story is completely unoriginal, but it rocked my fucking world by asking the right questions and developing the characters so thoroughly (Mare's arc is immaculate). Kate Winslet is just too good for words, and there isn't one weak link in the ensemble cast.
This also belongs in TV's "best final shot" club, along with Lost, Watchmen, and The Sopranos.
