Praying on this show's downfall. Y'all please pirate if you're gonna watch it.. Edit june 6th: Why in god's name did this get kinda viral... Since some people asked, I asked y'all to pirate because a few months ago an article came out on the 'rolling stones' site about the behind the scenes of the show's making, and it mentioned lots of fucked up things that happened like the fact that they first hired Amy semeitz to write and direct the show but when they were about 80% done with filming her script, The weekend (who is the producer) felt like the story was way too female centered (even tho the main character is a fucking woman, so that makes sense), so they then hired sam levinson to rewrite and redirect everything, forcing semeitz out. Every crew member that they interviewed had said that when sam started working on the show, the quality of the script went drastically down and it started to include an extreme amount of sexual scenes that were mostly unneeded, And some of them just perverted. This dude tried to get Jocelyn to insert an egg in her vagina to please tedros at some point. They only scrapped it because it would've been impossible to film without lily actually physically doing it. He's a big weirdo who is clearly using his scripts to bring out his sexual fantasies to life, thinks that edgy stuff and trauma automatically makes a good show and honestly can't even write that well. If y'all would pirate instead of streaming it, it wont get good ratings and the show might fail miserably like it deserves to and they won't waste money producing a second season bc they think we want it. Read the article y'all. Edit june 7th: Cinebad, no fucking shit the cast hasn't said anything. That would make things awkward between them and hbo, and they would be labeled as 'difficult to work with' in the industry. Are you blind, or did you just miss the part in the article where the crew members did say bad things, because they're regular people, and it's not like it will affect their career. Nudity isn't morally wrong, it just has to have an actual purpose. Sometimes when male directors/writers consistently put their female characters in positions in their scripts even when it feels out of place and no real life woman would act that way, it gets to a point where you can tell that really, they just wanted to see her tits out. To please the male gaze, to please the male viewers, to get themselves off.... If you read the article, and you can't see a problem with a script that went from pedestaling women's stories (Since again, the main character is a fucking woman) to a script that sexualizes and objectifies women for no good reason, you're obviously a man who doesn't see women as more than an object in your personal life and also genuinely stupid. I deleted, and will continue to delete any stupidity, and any comments that defend this bullshit of a show, and idgaf either.
