okay i wanna point something out about this ep bc i found it interesting and i want ppl to appreciate the writing in twd more. 

Im not too much of an expert on the story but the shane and rick dynamic directly parrallels a story in judaism where archangel michael defeated lucifer after lucifer tried becoming god which is just like rick defeating shane after he tried taking control of everyone. There’s more at play into this like lucifers jealousy bc michael was closer to  god and shane was jealous of rick being with lori which initially first caused the conflicts between them. At the end we see rick put a stop to shane which is why the name of the ep is called "better angels" bc rick IS the better angel.
