Seems like everyone has been invited to Lake Laogai by the Earth King.
It's disappointing, but not really surprising, that not a single review here has pointed out why Avatar: The Last Airbender is one of the most IMPORTANT pieces of art ever created.
Sure, it has great characters, cool action sequences, and beautiful animation, but what makes ATLA a MASTERPIECE is its exploration of real-world socio-political issues in guise of a kid's cartoon, issues that has become more relevant than ever as we continue to fight the Fire Nations of our own world:
> Return to Omashu - colonialism
> The Swamp - interconnectedness, environmentalism
> Avatar Day - historical revisionism, fake news
> Zuko Alone - police brutality
> The Serpent's Pass - war refugees
> City of Walls and Secrets & Lake Laogai - classism, institutional lies, censorship, fascist propaganda, genocide denial, indoctrination
> Appa's Lost Days - animal cruelty
