I feel bad for giving this a low rating in comparison to the other reviews and the mountain of praise that they give to this show and this season in particular but I found that I just didn't connect with the show until the last couple of episodes. I think most of that is my fault as I was watching and focusing on other shows whilst watching this one but overall I still did like it and had a good time regardless. The best part has to be the characters for me with Villanelle being my favourite. Jodie Comer is so good in not only this role but also at making Villainelle so likable despite the fact that she is often going against most of the people in the story that we are supposed to root for, she really just commands any scene that she is in. Sandra Oh as Eve also delivers a good performance and I liked seeing her development throughout the season. The side cast all did great with the roles but I would've liked to have seen more of certain ones such as Kenny and Elena with the latter not even being in the last couple of episodes which seemed like a missed opportunity to not develop her beyond what we got in the first couple of episodes. The story was good although admittedly not entirely engaging but I'm assuming that the story will continue to develop as the show goes on and that this season is just a starting point. Overall, I do feel like this season wasn't as good as I was hoping for but I feel like that might have been more so on my part rather than on the show and I am interested in seeing where the show continues. Hopefully the next couple of seasons deliver.
