There are times when I watch this show, and it’s almost hard for me to believe that this isn’t a real family. As hilariously absurd some of these situations can become, the dynamics and interactions between everyone are things that I feel like I’ve seen countless times. The snark, the team ups, the manipulation, the reconciliations, it all clearly stems from a sparkling love for family, a love and care that just exudes from every frame of this show, and especially in these last two seasons, where it’s all been in full form. The show may have its more cringeworthy moments, but 4 seasons in and I don’t think I’ve seen a single episode where I also wasn’t comforted. Although it hasn’t quite reached the peaks of other sitcoms I love, Modern Family still finds a way to stand out in its lovability. I don’t think I’ve ever seen another show that feels as much like a hug as this one, and honestly I wouldn’t be sad if I never did. It’s the kind of thing that I could watch forever. A show to laugh to, cheer to, and tear up to till the end of time. I love this family, and they remind me how much I love mine.
