This was the bravest ending the creators could have chosen, yet also the ending most loyal to the groundwork on which it was built. We were told from the start not to expect gratification, that our heros and villains would die just as easily as one another. That characters we loved would turn cruel, and character we hated would grow kind.
This ending lives up to that, but still manages to add gratifying and satisfying ends to our characters stories. This ending is how it should be, and thankfully how it is. Because instead of giving the audience something they thought would be cool or grandeous, the creators gave us something real, something necessary, something true to the shows nature, and if I had the chance to change it I wouldn't.
1 love this show from start to finish, and I will continue to stand by it, I can only hope that with time and distance from the series fans will come to love and respect it, and if not, then future fans will.
