If you are going to do a show like this, either you go all in on realism or you don’t. Nothing irks me more than watching a show or movie that says “this is the near future” so much so they reference a “Secretary Rubio” - presumably referencing US Senator Marco Rubio - but then includes elements that could still be 100+ years away. Also, not to be that person, but this feels like propaganda in the worst way. The people who are tuning in are already aware that the earth is dying and global warming is going to get us all. The one good thing I can say about this show is that it does shift blame onto corporations and governments more so than individuals, but I still felt like I was being talked down to the entire time. I am frankly quite tired of being an environmentally conscious person who tries to do their part just to be subjected to shows like this that continue to remind me there is little I can do if the people at the top don’t act. It’s not only depressing, but it’s infuriating.
