Idk how they managed to do it but in the last two episodes, this show managed to completely fuck me up.
Overall on the show, I wish that the whole thing felt more like the penultimate ep and the pilot but this one especially gut punched me. The end in particular
The way they knew that Tom Hughes and Emily Blunt being onscreen together would just be too many cheekbones and severe beautiful angular faces but still, don't do me like that, they're just gonna say he drowned when he was looking particularly good right before??
Also explain to me how rafe spall looked so good RIDDLED with syphilis I am probably unwell. He was so good too, I fucking love him and him getting to be so evil and unhinged but in such a balanced way. To be so sinister with such little screen time. Perfect.
I don't know how to feel about the series as a whole, the pacing definitely wasn't it. But Chaske and Emily were so good. The supporting cast was also phenomenal but overall, it just never quite got there.
Beautiful to look at though. And that's saying something for a show covered in dust.
Shot in Spain, are there even parts of those areas in the US where you could even film that remotely anymore? I wanna know.
