i started watching this show before watching the documentary "Mickey: the story of a mouse", and after watching the documentary i found even more respect for it and its creativity. to give a rundown of what makes this show so special: Mickey, at his origin, was goofy and silly and angry and all the lovely emotions we know as the forms of Goofy, Donald, and the others. over time as he grew popular with all ages, parents were worried he would be a bad influence (hence, the creation of his friends Goofy and Donald). since he has been very washed out, with little to no personality of his own. the way the execs decided to heal this wound on the Disney company's side was to give the producer of this show FULL REIGN over what mickey can and will do, and what he will act like. he was given permission to ignore the rules previously set for the mouse and do whatever he thinks the original would have done in such a setting. rewatching this show is great, and it is obviously a show that was made with love from the whole team involved. love it :)
