i’m struggling here. i had enjoyment in some episodes and i was entertained to the point i really want to credit it with another 0.5 but i just can’t justify it. what was the point? where did A SINGLE character arc go? what was the storyline? where was the plot? pros : Alexa Demie’s Maddy is one of the most entertaining performances of the 2020s. Sydney Sweeney ate the unhinged part of Cassie and Zendaya is ever excellent as Rue. the best writing was when it dealt with Rue and her family, shoutout to Nika King, Storm Reid and Colman Domingo as Ali Rue’s sponsor as well. they were the grounding forces of the show this year. cons : Hunter Schafer as Jules was WASTED and nobody’s storylines went anywhere quite literally besides Nate SORT OF.
