i will never shut up about how good this show is. come for the swashbuckling pirates, stay for the realization that this is a story about people cast out by "civilized" society that don't see any other way to live. masterfully written, masterfully acted. genuinely some of the best written and delivered dialogue of any show I've ever seen. the exchanges between the two main characters are just *chef's kiss* the first season is a little slow but lays a crucial foundation for the story that absolutely pays off later. when the action does finally hit, it feels earned and it's so much more exciting.
