staggering. watched the entire second season in one sitting thinking it will help the processing of it all: if anything it made it all the more overwhelming. this show in all honesty is perfect or as close to perfect as it can be. the first season takes on fleabag within her encounters within her romantic life and family life as the relationships continue to fizzle out in replacement to fleabags own personal trauma and her response to that. the show is structured around her life with no tv like structure instead focusing on her relationships and her life- its balance between comedy and aching drama within the first season is incredibly intelligent and honestly hard to pull off but this show manages it with a soaring amount of emotional intensity especially when everything falls apart within the finale of season one. season two is unlike the first one that it resembles more of the typical television structure with the usage of new characters and the big wedding capitalising onto the emotional turmoil within the characters. yet the second season changing up its structure doesnt change its thematic tone if anything it digs deeper, it digs deeper into fleabags love and relationships between her sister and her stepmother and father. and establishes a new relationship with andrew scotts character (the hot priest) which gives the show a devastatingly human feel to it. and with the finale i couldnt stop crying, not because it was sad not really everyone got the clarity they needed and if anything every character who i loved and saw myself in would probably be living their best life by now: but the fact that its over. the episodes run in quick easy watches but delve into these characters more than most shows establishing every single one of them as flawed and difficult but representing a part of me that i cannot explain. fleabag is funny, intelligent and most of all unique. within the way its structured and set out, within its characters and with the impact it has had on me.
